Concept development and presentation for OPEN Kitchen, an online food education platform teamed with kitchen design innovation to create a cookery school in every home, Empowering people with the resources, equipment and community to instil good food habits in nutrition, provenance and preservation, in turn improving public health and awareness, combatting obesity and overconsumption, and securing sustainable food systems.

FARM KITCHEN

A 272sqm inspiration space and 100-seater pop up restaurant, exploring the integration of micro-agriculture into interior design. Vertical planting, hydroponics, lighting, living ‘infusion’ walls for wellbeing, sustainable materials, and even algae as a source of food and fuel, were among many features and talking points designed, attracting sponsorship from Gaggenau and Dornbracht, and listing as one of Icon’s Top 3 Highlights of 100% Design.

THE COURTHOUSE

Creative direction and interior design specification for a property redevelopment set in rural Cheshire, steeped in character and charm, and nestled in its own woodland. Considering four bedrooms, four receptions and a six-person home office with meeting space and mezzanine, a concept development phase will lead to a series of room schemes and specifications for the client's trades team to implement, with ongoing guidance and consultancy until completion.

MATTERGARDEN

100% Design/Media 10 for London Design Festival

A 128sqm immersive design installation exploring the Earth’s permanence and generous supply of materials, structure and sustenance. An elemental oasis of sorts, it included an energising juice bar with its menu based on edible materials used in architecture and interiors. The waste from the juice production in turn formed the basis of activities in colour and pigmentation, combined with spices and vegetation foraged from throughout the installation. Ask me about this project →

Creative direction for streetfood styling at Streetfeast, Hawker House, to set the scene for trendspotting experts The Food People to reveal their predictions for 2017/18 food culture and cuisine. Engaging touchpoints and storyful details via a considered mix of makeshift and upcycled objects and materials, to complete the upscale attendee experience supported by award-winning Peruvian chef and restaurateur, Martin Morales, and more.

WHITSBURY CHAPEL

Interior design scheme for a boutique chapel conversion project on rural relaxation, warmth and escape. The architect's design comprised one large room on the ground floor with cloakroom and pantry, kitchen area, dining area, living area and reading snug, and a spiral staircase leading to two ensuite bedrooms. The presentation included initial designs, visualisations, sourcing and specification, for use in pitching and communicating with stakeholders, suppliers and local authorities.

MAKER CAROUSEL

An 81sqm immersive design installation celebrating the magical world of the designer-maker. Play and experimentation was encouraged among visitors through tasks, activities and a talks schedule based on traditional and emerging methodologies in design, from paper prototyping, model-making and blockprinting to 3D printing and connectivity. The installation, supported by the British Council, was voted Most Popular Feature by 25,000 visitors.

A modular culinary workbench system inspired by individuality, diverse materials and strong narratives in design, Chop & Change gives designers the freedom to mix materials, texture, colour and pattern, and to create a strong personal statement in an impactful interior. Following creative direction and concept development to point of production, Caroline now periodically create the trends reports and style guides that lead to new collections and limited editions. Featured in 100% Design, Elle Decoration & Grand Designs Magazine.

A suite of interior design schemes for rollout across a 120-strong student property portfolio, with an emphasis on layouts and styling that encourage positive vibes and interactions in shared spaces. These design improvements to private properties were commissioned in line with the much-documented rising expectations of students, in terms of quality, style and experience. Implemented by the client and, in addition, offered as part of an improved rental sales and property management package to theirs.
